The Inner-City hotel was once a significant element of Newcastle’s traditional CBD. It catered for a range of workers, residents and visitors. In fact, the Inner-City pub crawl was once a Rite of Passage. The decline of the Inner-City hotel reflects a changing CBD and a changing urban hinterland. 

“A Long Street” examines the histories of some 34 hotel sites—many of which are likely to generate memories and reflections.
